Privacy policy
Reeler Tech AB, as well as any affiliated website, application or company (collectively referred to as “Reeler”), recognizes the importance of your privacy. This privacy policy tells you what personal information we collect and how we use it. Reeler may change this privacy policy from time to time, as discussed in section 5 below. By using or visiting any Reeler website, application, data feed or other service (collectively called the "Service"), you understand and agree to the terms of this privacy policy.
1. What information does Reeler collect?
Reeler collects both personally identifiable information and non-personally-identifiable information.
Personally identifiable information
Reeler collects personally identifiable information when a user like you knowingly provide it to us. This may be for example when you register to receive marketing information or request technical support, and provide personal information such as your email address, name, phone number, employer, job title, or other information. You may have the option to register with Reeler using a third party service (“TPS”) or connect your account to a TPS, such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube or LinkedIn. By authorizing us to access your TPS account, you understand that we may obtain information from your TPS account, which may include your name, email, birthday, educational background, work history, current city, shared media, and the names, profile pictures, relationship status, and current cities of your TPS contacts. We only obtain information from your TPS account that you specifically authorize and grant us permission to obtain.
Reeler collects and uses your personally-identifiable information to operate and improve our Service, to process your transactions, to provide customer service, and to perform analysis to improve our product offering, Service and technology. You may always choose not to provide personal information, but if you do so, certain parts of the Service may not be available to you. Reeler does not consider personally identifiable information to include information that has been anonymized so that it does not allow a third party to identify a specific individual.
Non-personally-identifiable information
We may collect and aggregate non-personally identifiable information, such as a website that referred you to us, your IP address, browser type and language, hardware types, geographic location, and access times and durations. We also may collect navigational information, including information about the Service content or pages you view, the links you click, and other actions taken in connection with the Service.
Technologies used: cookies, pixels and local storage
Reeler, or third party subcontractors, may collect non-personally identifiable information via the use of cookies and other similar technologies, such as pixels or local storage. Cookies are pieces of information that are transferred to an individual's hard drive for record- keeping purposes. Cookies are used to assist you in using site information and content by saving your user preferences which allows us to identify registered users and this way eliminate the need to repeatedly enter the same information. Cookies are also used to collect aggregate information about users on an anonymous basis.
In addition to cookies, we may use other technologies, including single-pixel gifs (also called web beacons) on our websites and in promotional newsletters and other email messages. These electronic images assist us in determining how many users have visited certain pages or opened different marketing messages or newsletters. We do not use these single-pixel gifs to collect personal information.
Reeler also uses local storage, which is an industry-standard technology which allows a website or application to store information locally on your computer or mobile device. This technology allows Reeler to customize your experience and the content you may see. You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can modify your browser setting to decline cookies or to request your permission each time a Service attempts to set a cookie. Please be aware that our Service is optimally designed to operate with cookies enabled; if you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to sign in or use other interactive features of the Service that depend on cookies.
2. What does Reeler do with the information?
Reeler uses the personally identifiable information directly provided by you solely for the purpose for which you have provided it, whether it be to register, request information, use the Service (professionally or as a private end-user), or to communicate with others. We may share this information with service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as processing information requests, displaying stored data you access, to assist us in marketing, to conduct performance analysis, etc.
Reeler’s service providers will be permitted to obtain only the personal information they need to provide their service. Service providers will also be required to maintain the confidentiality of the information, and will be prohibited from using the information for any other purpose.
Reeler may also use the information you provide to contact you for reasons related to your to your use of the Service (professionally or as a private end-user uploading content), or in reply to a communication to us. Additionally, we may periodically send you email or text messages or call your mobile number regarding existing or prospective products and services, or to obtain information to better understand our users. You can opt out of such non-transactional communications at any time.
We may also use information you provide to better serve you, and, if you have given your consent for us to do so, to send you email or text messages concerning offers from our partners and other third parties that we think may be of interest to you. If you do not wish to receive marketing emails, you may adjust your personal information preferences by following the “unsubscribe” or “stop” instructions included within each communication.
Reeler or our third-party partners will use non-personally-identifiable information to track and analyze usage and volume statistical information from our users to administer our content in order to improve the Service. We may also perform statistical analysis of user behavior in order to measure interest in our online products and services for product development purposes.
As a general rule, Reeler will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information except under one of the following circumstances:
– We have your permission;
– We determine in good faith that it is legally required to be revealed by any relevant statute, regulation, administrative or court order, or subpoena, or to address activities that we believe to be manipulative, deceptive or otherwise a violation of law.
– Where you are otherwise notified at the time we collect the data;
– Where we need to share your information to provide the product or service you have requested;
– When such disclosure is made subject to confidentiality restrictions in connection with a sale, merger, transfer, exchange, or other disposition of all or a portion of the business conducted by Reeler. Reeler may share the non-personally identifiable information that Reeler gathers, in aggregate form only, with advertisers and other partners.
Except as disclosed in this privacy policy, Reeler does not share your personal information with outside parties.
3. Reeler as a subcontractor data processor
Reeler's Service includes a platform used by Reeler's enterprise clients ("Clients") to collect user-generated content such as photos, videos, text and audio clips. When collecting such content, Reeler's Clients may choose to collect personally identifiable information and non-personally identifiable information via Reeler's Service. In such cases, the Client is the Data Owner and will communicate their own end-user privacy policy applicable to the information collected. This means that Reeler acts as the Client's Data Processor, processing the personally identifiable information on behalf of the Client / Data Owner; Reeler does not use the information in any way except as requested by the Client, according to the data processing agreement made between the Client / Data Owner and Reeler.
4. Data security
Reeler maintains the confidentiality of your personal data. Reeler uses technology, which is secure to industry standard to protect the content and the privacy of Users. All Reeler staff have a duty to respect User confidentiality. A confidentiality clause is included in every employment contract of Reeler, employees who have access to the personal data, as well as in those with its subcontractors.
5. Changes to the privacy policy
Reeler may modify or amend this privacy policy. All changes or amendments will come into force from the date of posting on the Reeler privacy policy page. Your continuing usage of the Sservice after the publication by Reeler of an updated version of the Privacy Policy implies that you consent to the Privacy Policy, as modified. Consequently, it is important that you regularly read this Privacy Policy to make sure that you are fully aware of all the changes that may have been applied to it.
6. Applicable law
Reeler’s privacy policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
